Review | Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner Review ♡

Hello Everyone and welcome back to my little corner of the internet!

Today I am here with a long overdue post about the Shadow Switch Dry Brush Cleaner. I was kindly sent this by Beauty Essentials to review before the launch of their new products and packaging.

WHO ARE BEAUTY ESSENTIALS?

They are an upcoming beauty brand who dedicate themselves to creating unique tools to aid you in your daily beauty routine. Beauty Essentials haven't officially launched yet, however their Shadow Switch cleaner is actually available to buy here on Amazon for just £5.99. They will be launching with a new design and packaging so the one you see above isn't the final look. This is:

The re-vamped packing has a very sleek and minimalist vibe, drawing in anyone who lays eyes on it!

SO WHAT IS THE SHADOW SWITCH?

This unique dry brush cleaner will allow you to instantly switch between the colours of your favourite palettes. You can switch from those dark outer creases to highlighted inner corners all with out getting your brushes wet.

Beauty Essentials claim that this product will:

Remove make up from your brushes quickly and effectively
Eliminate the need to switch brushes to use a different colour make up powder!
Prevent makeup powders transferring when using the same brush.

HOW EXACTLY DOES THIS CLEANER WORK?

As you can see in the picture below this cleaner is a scourer-like spongy material:

When you are ready to switch colours you simply press and rotate your brush over the Shadow Switch in a circular motion until all traces of colour powder have gone. After this I tend to test my brush on the back of my hand to make sure all of the powder is off. If not you just repeat, its that simple!

DOES THIS PRODUCT DO WHAT IT CLAIMS ON THE TIN?? (LITERALLY)

At first I was sceptical, can a product really remove my makeup that easy? But now I find myself reaching for it almost every time I create a look! I find it easy to use and it does remove all powders from my brushes, including the stubborn and hard to reach bristles. When the sponge is full it is recommended to rinse it with water and leave it to dry. However I find you can simply flip it over and use the other side fully before washing. (Cheeky I know) But it does work and it means you can use it for longer without washing. For £5.99 you cant really go wrong, its worth a try. I would definitely recommend any makeup lover to add this beauty to their collection!

Is anyone else obsessing over the mermaid and unicorn craze at the moment?? The thought of it just makes me so nostalgic and happy! You can imagine the look on my face when I saw these beauties from Makeup Revolution, I had to buy them.

Firstly we have this beautiful palette called 'Unicorns Unite'. Not only are the shadows in this palette highly pigmented but they're also really easy to blend! I also love the fact that each colour has its own name. Does anybody else look for that in a palette? I find it makes it so easy to do tutorials as everyone with knows exactly which shade you're using. (Instead of saying something along the lines of, 'the purpley colour in the top right corner!')
This palette has a mixture of shimmery and matte colours which means you're a little bit spoilt for choice! As much as i love this palette I find the packaging quite annoying. Don't get me wrong the holographic exterior is pretty cool but I just feel like it's a waste. Opening and closing it every time is a pain and if you don't use it, it's either going to be in the way or binned. It's Quite wasteful!

Next we have the 'Mermaids VS Unicorns' (On the left) and the 'Unicorns are real'(On the right). Both palettes are highly pigmented and really easy to use. My favourite is definitely 'Unicorns are Real', especially paired with Revolutions Ultra Strobe Cream.They give any look a 'magical' undertone.
Alongside this i've found that all the shades are quite complementary. Also, because the shadows are all quite complementary it's managed to make its way into my everyday makeup routine. The same however can't be said for the 'Mermaids VS Unicorns' set, I find myself limited with this palette as the colours are quite bold. This means i can only use them with certain looks or outfits.

Despite a few flaws these palettes are my current obsession. Even if it is just to stare
at them and take in their beauty ;)

Makeup Revolution Iconic Matte Lipsticks Review ❀

Isn't this just a stunning collection of lipsticks?? Makeup Revolution initially brought out the high gloss rose gold version of these shades but then re-released the colours in the matte.. and what a difference it makes! Personally I love matte lipsticks, I generally prefer them to say shiny or glossy lipsticks as I feel it adds a sense of sophistication.

The above picture shows my favourite 3 of the collection, they are 'members club', 'chauffeur' and Diamond life. They are all very different in terms of intensity but they all glide on your lips like a dream! Having had time to try these out now, I feel that they are definitely value for money costing only £3.00 each! They apply really easily and last a long time, what more could you want? Not to mention how pretty they all are..

This next shade is VERY glamorous, I love how classy it looks. Don't get me wrong at the end of the day it is just 'another red lipstick', everyone's got at least one in their collection. But this one just has something special too it, I guess you could say the name gives a placebo effect. It makes you feel like you are actually 'red carpet ready', I mean, who doesn't love feeling glamorous?

The final shade is 'best friend', I have to admit this is my least favourite of the collection. I find its just so limiting due to the brightness, seriously, its 10x brighter then what it looks in this picture! I think this shade would be perfect for festivals, UV parties or even just for fancy dress but when it comes to everyday wear its not that great. With the summer season coming to an end I feel this isn't really going to leave my lipstick draw any time soon.

But overall I love the products, like I said, I'm all about those mattes! These apply amazingly and can glam up any look so overall id say they're an essential to any collection!

Direct Cosmetics Haul

Recently I've gone a bit over board buying make up, but at these prices who wouldn't! Alongside Director Cosmetics Ive also bought a load from Wish, but that's a post for another day. So I found this company on instagram and thought why not give them a go. If it saves me money on cosmetics then what's the harm? I bought five products in total and have trialed each of these products and thought I'd give you my opinions. The delivery from this company was alot quicker then expected so I was very happy with the service. They also sent me emails every step of the way and tracked the parcel so I knew where my delivery at all times. Overall they have great customer service and a great range of products!

First up are two products of the Revlon Age Defying range. On the left is their DNA powder, this was priced at £6.99 which is half of the RRP at £13.99. The powder has great coverage and it almost seems to make my face glow which is incredible! Although it has an amazing effect I find the brush that comes with it almost useless, I tend to use one of my own to get the finish I want. But don't let the brush put you off, the powder is definitely worth it. On the right is the Revlon Age Defying foundation in the shade Fresh Ivory.This foundation has an spf.15 so it's perfect for me as I have alot of sun damage to my face, especially my under eyes. It provides a decent coverage but I have found better products before and won't be reperchasing this one.

When I found out they sold the L'Oréal False Lash Flutter mascara in midnight black I was over the moon! My friend Amy has this mascara and I borrow it everytime I get ready with her, I've never seen anything like it. The midnight black isn't sold by many companies any more and if it is it's certainly not at this price! They sell it for only £3.99! That's incredible considering they RRP at £9.99! When this mascara arrived it did not disappoint either, its still one of the best I've used in a long while.

This next product is the Sumptuous mascara by Estee Lauder. I've never really used their products before as I've never been able to afford what they sell. So when I found this down from £12.99 to just £2.50 I had to purchase it! Although it is only a tester size I still think it's great value for money. This is a good product but it doesn't compare to the Flutter mascara above. Personally I won't be reperchasing it. However, if you're wanting to try any of Estee Lauders products then Drect Cosmetics is an opportunity for you to do so cheaply! ;)

The final product in this Haul is the Burberry Sheer Concealer in the shade soft beige.This Concealer gives a really good coverage, I'd recommend it to anyone with under eye issues! This product retails at £26.00 but Direct Cosmetics sell it for just £9.00. This is the tester sized bottle, but again if you want to test the product without paying full price then this website is perfect for you.

Overall I'd recommend this website to anyone who wants big name products for small prices!

Kate Moss Lipstick Collections - Yay or Nay? ♥

Like most people I am a fan of both Kate Moss' work and all things makeup, but should the two mix? I've trialled three of her lipsticks, one from the' Lasting Finish Matte collection', and two from the 'Lasting Finish Nudes Collection'.

Lets start off with the 'matte' collection. This collection gained a lot of hype due to the publicity it had from YouTuber 'Zoella'; its a well known fact that the shade '107' is her most iconic lipstick. (Its even the shade on her figurine in Madame Tussauds!) But personally I didn't think too much of it! Dark colours generally tend to suit my lips quite well due to me having dark hair; although to me this colour just didn't sit right. But that's just my opinion, everyone's different! I do find that this lippy wears off really quick, and is actually quite hard to apply! Alongside this, I didn't find it had that 'matte' look I was going for, so its safe to say I'm not overly impressed with it....

HOWEVER, the nude range definitely changed my mind on her collections!! The shade in the above pic is number '45', this is also demonstrated in the picture of me to the left. The colours in this range are amazing! Normally I don't suit light colours on my lips, but this shade is definitely an exception! I also trialled the shade '48', this is a darker lipstick more like the colours im used to. I can quite honestly say that this shade is my FAVOURITE to wear at this time of year! It just suits the autumn colours so well and leaves me with a lovely sheen on my lips.

The only thing that lets these lippys' down is the fact that I do find myself reapplying it more often then id like. When you compare it to competitors products such as 'Maybelline New York's 24 hour Super Stay lipstick'; you'll find your asking yourself, do I really want a lippy that I have to keep reapplying? Especially when Maybellines' genuinely lasts all day...

But quite frankly I would. The colours from this range are stunning and although I do have to reapply it quite a lot, I find that a lip colour can be the perfect 'look finisher'. Its like accessorising, it can either make or break an outfit.

So overall I find that the 'matte' collection isn't anything worth getting excited over, however, I wouldn't hesitate in repurchasing or expanding my collection of the 'Nude' range.
